January 6th we celebrated the Feast of Epiphany. We had planned to have 5 other families over to feast and celebrate with us but decided we were not ready for company and revelry so we cancelled this year and kept the festivities as a family.

I’ll finish up my Christmas posts with days 10-12 all at once. On the tenth day of Christmas we made ice ornaments to hang outside.
Christmas Day Nine
January 23rd, 2017 by Aubri
On the ninth day of Christmas I don’t remember most of what happened. But I did rope Phil into a game night. I reeeally want to be a family that plays games together. It is getting a little easier…but oy! The tension is high and not the good gamey kind of tension. There’s always a whole lotta blood sweat and tears when we go down “family game night” street.
Christmas Day Eight
January 23rd, 2017 by Aubri
The eighth day of Christmas, the day we remember the Circumcision and Naming of Jesus. It wasn’t until a couple weeks later I given much thought about this weekend being New Year’s Weekend. A stranger asked what I’d done for New Years. It took me a minute to remember, then it was there, what I’d done. I’d mourned the death of my child. I couldn’t tell them that though. I think I only said, “Not much.”
On New Year’s Day God comforted me with His Word from Isaiah 61.
