Thursday evening we held our annual Valentine’s Day Fancy Supper. I found this idea years ago and we’ve had fun with it since. like to have everyone dress up fancy but our weeknights are sometimes pretty busy so that didn’t work out this year. Mercy did arrive in a her ball gown though just to make the rest of us feel way underdressed.

That afternoon she helped me in the kitchen get all the pizza crusts made for the meal.

Last Saturday the babies got started on their Valentine cards to exchange at school. This is getting so much easier now that they are getting older. They can write their own names, fold them and attatch stickers all by themselves! They even help each other out. So nice. It takes a couple hours, I’m always glad I get started on this early.

The house was quiet with the peace of a new morning. I love moments like this one. The light in the room even seems peaceful. It reminds me to stop and enjoy it while it lasts.

Day 10.

On the Tenth day of Christmas we had our Annual Gingerbread Day.

Clara helped me assemble our houses, from kits again this year because I have learned that, yes, gingerbread from scratch is way better tasting than premade but that’s something I’m willing to sacrifice for the sake of my nerves, my back, my feet and for the happiness of all involved.

We will get back to gingerbread cookies from scratch next year though, cuz…yum.
