For Our Spirits:
It’s good to try to have fun together as a family too right? It’s good, but in our case it is not easy. This is still a difficult phase of family life, with mostly littles. But we try. I would love to have game time be a regular part of our life together eventually. I imagine how fun it could be someday to sit around and play board games or cards together….without someone crying or having to get a spank. We’ve made some attempts. It is getting better. But “better” doesn’t mean much yet.
Phil has been such a good Daddy when it comes to this area. It’s he who takes the babies to the zoo or the children’s museum, out to eat or to the indoor pool in the Winter.
He takes the kids fishing and camping and out on Daddy date nights or along to Home Depot. He is a gift to all of us. I can barely get everyone to church on Sunday morning! I’m so thankful for him.
And it is Phil who plans and organizes all of the Daddy Mama date nights too. If it were up to me we probably wouldn’t have left the house together since 2007 but he has made this a priority for our marriage.
To get to spend time together sans babies. He finds something fun to do, lines up a sitter and pushes me to my room to find something besides stained unmatching “house clothes” to put on. Again, I am so thankful for him.
And since we celebrate TEN years of marriage this month I thought I’d share our date night pictures here. Pictures I meant to share as they came but got busy with life. We’ve had some great dates this year!

Thank you Lovie for all the work you do to make our date nights happen. They’re important and always fun. I’m so happy to spend them with you.
He’s a good man, that one. And I’m so glad you’ve got date nights. There will come a day when it’s just the two of you in the house again. (I know it seems like an eternity away right now.) Keep taking pictures of yourselves together. THAT brings me joy!
Thank you friend. Just the 2 of us does seem like forever from now. How strange that will be. I’m glad we like each other enough to look forward to that though! 😀 It took us about 7 attempts to get a successful selfie…or “us-ie!” Why is that so hard?
