Epiphany is such a wonderful season to help one transition from Christmas into January and remaining winter months. I was looking forward to it this year but since we’ve moved, I wasn’t sure if it would mean our traditional amount of feasting with friends.
And because it fell on a Wednesday this year I knew if we did feast, it wouldn’t be on the 6th. I originally thought I’d just put together a big meal to celebrate this festival as a family. After all, we are in such a small house right now and it would be short notice to invite any other families.
But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to try to do what we’ve enjoyed in previous years. For me it’s a lot easier to make a big deal out of Epiphany than Christmas. It’s a less busy time of year, not hectic but still of the spirit of Christmas. I have so much fun with this Feast.
So we made it happen and were glad others could join us!
We invited some of the families from our church. And they were all so kind to bring food with them! I made a turkey we’d been given for Christmas and of course the Kings Cake.
And we actually all fit! Our big table coming in handy.
A Rum Cake with trinkets. This year: Baby Jesus, a button, a jewel, a thimble, a ring and a quarter. I made up meanings for each last year.
Congratulations to our King of the Feast!
God has truly blessed us here in our new church. He continues to provide all we need!
Hooray for feasting and new friends!
Looks like a great time, and what a delicious looking cake!
Wow! So neat, Aubri!
What a nice group around your table! AND the kiddos at your party. How Fun!!
