It finally cooled off up here and stopped raining for 10 seconds so, a week late, we hit the sidewalk for our annual Fall Embertide Walk to look for and gather signs of Autumn.
The babies didn’t understand why we couldn’t just stop and play in other people’s front yards like we used to do in Bancroft. I told them cuz big city people are meanies. JK.
But we did sneak into a few yards to gather some really great leaves this year.
Pretty Fall.
I love the fall embertide photos; what a fun outing each year for the littles! 🙂
That looks like fun!
Fall is my favorite. Though I like spring and summer too. Winter can go away. 🙂
Have you tried pressing those leaves between sheets of ironed wax paper? Cool iron, no steam, place leaves between two pieces of waxed paper placed wax sides together. Cover with a dish towel and iron away! The wax melts sticking them together. We used to make placemats for the table this way – and we could enjoy the leaves all fall! We took a photo when we made them so when they got tatty looking we could just throw them. Even better – you can just wipe them off for quite a while.

Cute! Glad you had some nice weather for your walk.
Ooo, I’ve only ever pressed flowers between heavy books before, Lea. Didn’t think about the wax paper! What a great idea I’ll have to remember that for next year!
Yes Carrie! We’re glad for the good weather too. It’s been perfect!
