July 28th the day we moved to Omaha was Lily’s seventh birthday. We rolled into town, piled into the MegaVan and headed over to our new friends’, the Berndt’s house for supper. We were all very surprised to find they had a surprise birthday party planned for our girl! Cupcakes, balloons and a gift to make her day special.
Instant friends!
Can you tell she loves the limelight?
So sweet of this wonderful family to open their home to us and make us all feel so welcome! Another blessing in this new place.
It occurred to me that Lily is the age I was when we moved back to the States from Germany. Seven made me feel so grown up and the changes we were making made life seem like a big adventure. I wonder what memories she’ll have of this age.
With the rest of the week so busy, we waited until Saturday to have another party for Lily, a Fairy party with decorations I’ve been saving for over a year when other birthdays haven’t worked out to use them for. (I don’t even know what that sentence meant but maybe you did.)
And this year we got a cookie “cake” for her. She’s been wanting one of these since one of her classmates brought one to school last year for their birthday party. I remembered just in time and well, living in a city you can go out and buy one of these things whenever you want! (Also I like the word “one.”)
Since Lily likes reading poetry.
A fairy for each of the girls!
Oh, sweet Lily! Happy 7th Birthday!
And “HOORAY!” to the Berndts for opening their home to your family for Lily’s special day.
We are so glad you are finding many blessing here! I enjoy reading your blog! Looking forward to becoming closer as time allows!
Thank you Kristi! Wasn’t that nice of them?!
I look forward to that too Kathy! 🙂
So sweet. Happy Birthday Lily!
