Well it’s almost been 2 weeks since we moved. Most of the boxes are empty and things are finding there places in our new little house. The table we are having made isn’t finished yet so we slid two we had together and enjoyed our first meal in the temporary parsonage.
We hope our permanent parsonage will be ready for us by the Spring of next year. For now we’ll squeeze in here and wait for life to calm down a bit and let our new routine emerge.
It was quite a challenge for me to get the kitchen in order. With less counter space and a tiny pantry I had to get creative.
Our kitchen could hold a tiny table for 4 but instead will be the pantry spill over, coffee station, kids’ craft supply area and hold the etceteras of life.
As different as life already is for us here, we are happy to be here and finding more and more to enjoy each day.
Lily and Clara will start school next week and are excited about meeting their new teachers and classmates. I hope to get out more with the 5 babies left home everyday. The park practically in our backyard, the libraries, the community center and perhaps even some home pre-school time with me some mornings.
I can see now that no matter which walls surround you, you can still feel at home. We are blessed.
So glad to hear you’re settling in well!
I love what you did with your kitchen eating area – I’m not sure I would have thought of that!
You’ll have to let us all know what you think of the playground after you’ve checked it out a few times – it looks fantastic.

Glad you’re there safe and sound!
You made it!! We’ve been thinking about you and wondering how this time of transition is for everyone.
You’ll make the “temporary” parsonage into a wonderful home for your family. It’s about the people, not the things.
