At The Parsonage

Oops, I did it again….made the perfect “frappuccino” and didn’t write down the recipe. Sorry. It was good.

I used my prebrewed cold coffee concoction courtesy The Pioneer Woman, it’s nice and strong for this. (I’ve wanted to make a post just on the greatness that this new way to drink iced coffee is but haven’t gotten around to it, sorry again. Check it out though. It has been worth the effort!)

Cultivating Simplicity

Isn’t making life more “simple” something we all would like to do? Maybe. Unfortunately, some of us seem to be blessed with the ability to always make things more complicated. In an attempt to cultivate simplicity in my already complicated life, I often find myself looking for better ways to do things, whether it’s reorganizing an out of control closet or making my bread making process easier (thank you Jenny!!). I’m loving how quick and easy it is to pull a pre-made flour bag out of the freezer and dump it into the bread machine! Yay!

I think my next move will be more slow cooker meals. Genius, but this will require forethought, something my “blessed with the ability to always make things more complicated” brain doesn’t typically allow.

Daybook: July Part I

Living Seasonally

The hot summer lingers and the days seem like molasses passing by me, slow and difficult. I only have so much of myself to give each day, and it’s never enough. I’m eager for the school year to begin. The summer has given us; hours outside on the porch, the babies splashing in the pool, eating popsicles and riding their bikes. The back door is always swinging open and I’m constantly saying, “Close the door!” The summer also brings many birthdays to prepare for; Clara, Lily, Me, Gerhardt and other family.
