The Spelling Bee

December 10: Another new experience for our big girl. She made it into the school spelling bee which apparently all 5th graders were required to test for. Only 20 students were in the Bee however and Lily made it all the way to the the final 7. One of her best school friends went on to win and will go to the citywide spelling bee.
Piano Recital #1

After the kids danced for Christmas in Germany we had to get home so Gerhardt and Esther could prepare for their very first piano recital. They were so nervous but did a fabulous job!
A Chorus Show

I’m so proud of our Lily. She has been involving herself in a lot of things that are completely new to her lately. Earlier this month she volunteered to go along with the chorus group she’s in from school to perform Christmas songs at an outdoor mall. Unfortunately some nasty weather was moving in at the same time so Scheel’s was kind enough to allow the kids to sing inside their store.
