Last weekend was County Fair time. We enjoyed two days of looking at all the animals and riding as many (4) rides as we could…over and over again!
Essie’s first ride!
The weather was amazing. After a LONG HOT summer, THIS weekend ended up being cloudy and cool in the 70s! Almost chilly if I dare say so.
And of course every year at the Fair I think back to that special weekend when this stud muffin took me to my first County Fair, introduced me to “Midget Wrestling” (I kid you not) and Demolition Derbies…and I still said “Yes” when he asked me to marry him the next day, August 12, 2007. Sigh.
Who knew 5 years later we’d be standing at the kiddie rides waving and laughing at our own little critters.
A great way to end the Summer break.
Oh AND for the 3rd year we entered the “Cute Baby Photo” Contest at the Lutheran’s For Life booth submitting a picture of Esther I happened to have and we were in the TOP THREE!!! Finally we have a cute enough baby to place!
Here’s the winning cuteness!
Time does fly doesn’t it! I remember the time only one baby was big enough to ride, and she bravely did it alone! (And I would have given first place to the cuteness!)
She’s right up there with Uncle Butch because he won a baby contest way back in the twentieth century 🙂
I always loved the Fair! The last time I went was with Sylvia in 1995. Maybe this year I can go again. Love the photos and the stories you share – keep up the great work on the best blog in the world (in my humble opinion).
Love all of y’all!!!
