A Bundle of Myrrh

December Daily: Day Twenty-Five!

December 27th, 2010 by Aubri

Merry Christmas! How did our day go? See above.

Note how Clara goes right for the food….a banana.

“The toys are nice, but did you see this food?”

Mom, this book is TINY! But Lily loves it, this is one of her favorite books, Papa, Please Get the Moon For Me. We watch the animated version on youtube (which we love) and checked it out of our library. Now we can read it whenever we want. This is the book that resulted in her calling Phil “Papa” or “paw-paw” as it comes out and did I mention she’s started calling me “Ma”? Real Little House on the Prairie like…

Lily was so excited about her new ballerina pajamas that she wanted them on right away, over the ones she already had on, no time to take them off! And don’t act like your house didn’t look like this on Christmas morning!

This is exactly why I asked that no one send fancy toys for Christmas. The was the biggest hit of the day, a plastic bag and two bottles of baby soap!

We did love everything we received though family, thank you so much! Wonderful books, PJs, clothing and a tortilla warmer! Just what Gerhardt wanted! And the biggest surprise of the day, Phil was so clever to hide his gift in my stocking when I wasn’t looking, a pair of beautiful pearl earings!

Continuing our tradition of steaks on the grill!

And some wine since the babies were napping. Phil hasn’t had too much, he was just making a sassy comment about my slightly overwarmed rolls.

Uh, these were Phil’s idea. We went to Goodwill a few weeks ago to find some athletic pants for him (to complete his NBA star image) and he saw these outfits. He wanted them for pajamas.

They won’t sleep in them (they’re a little small and one of them has a HUGE tiger head on it if you didn’t notice) but they had fun running around with them on and don’t they look SO CUTE?! Ha ha!

We asked Lily who’s birthday we were celebrating, she said it was “Lily’s Birthday”. Not exactly the answer we were looking for. She got it eventually though.

We rejoice with you all on this day, for, as the verse that always comes to my mind at Christmastime says:

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
