A Bundle of Myrrh

"My beloved is unto me as a bundle of myrrh." Song of Solomon 1:13

December Daily: Day Twenty-Four

December 26th, 2010 by Aubri

Christmas Eve! Is this not the best day of the year? I love Christmas Eve. The whole Day has a wonderful feel to it; anticipation, last minute preparations! This afternoon we were invited to our neighbors Leanna and Vernon’s, house for lunch. We found our car battery had died so we walked which though it was cold, was quite nice.

With Chicken Salad for the main course Phil sat trying to figure out what he was going to eat….

Clara declaring that there wasn’t anything she WOULDN’T be eating.

Leanna likes to wear this shirt when the girls come over. They enjoy looking at all the birds.

This may be the girls’ favorite place in the world. We are so blessed to have Leanna and Vernon in our lives. They love us and our children like their own. A true gift, when living so far from our families!

We will have a white Christmas after all!

Yes Virginia, there is such a thing as TOO MANY COOKIES! I lost count of how many cookie plates we received!  I didn’t even want to bake after all this came in the house.

Clara disagrees.

Don’t get me wrong, I loves me a good cookie, okay, maybe even a bad one. On this plate there was NOT a bad one. I almost ate every one. Most the time you get a plate with some you like some you don’t, but this kind lady hit all these goodies out of the park!

I’m just saying, what am I gonna do with all these cookies?

Getting ready for our children’s Christmas Eve program. I can’t believe that next year we’ll be getting Lily ready to sing in it!

Watching the children sing “Baby Jesus songs”.

At a Christmas party after the service where we received some gifts.

Leanna was so kind to come over to the house and put the girls to bed so I could go with Phil to one of the candle light services we had. This is something I haven’t been able to do since Lily was born and was so happy to do this year. It’s easy for a mama to forget about herself at this time and I needed this!

I was up pretty late getting everything ready for the next morning!

And finally, lights out, a few minutes to soak in the beauty and quiet of the night, then off to bed!
