Esther turn the Big 5 on September 10th. Our 9-10-11 baby. For her it had to be a Puffin Rock birthday party. A sweet little show with love animation out of Ireland. All our kids enjoy this one but lately especially Esther who wants to color a picture of baby Baba almost everyday.
I found some great ideas from this mama on her blog for our party which turned out needing to be a supper party, so food was to be served not just cake. But when it came to the cake I was at a loss and putting it off to last minute. I’d planned on doing cupcakes but remembered my cupcake stand was no where to be found. So I was just gonna suck it up and make an actual cake……maybe? Blue frosting, green frosting how hard could it be? Ha haahaaha.
Well, when one of the cakes broke in half when I turned it out I almost scratched the whole idea but my long lost imagination kicked in and BEHOLD. Puffin Rock. You see it don’t you? You’d totally love to be a puffin living on this island wouldn’t you?!
Esther suggested we play Pin Baba on Puffin Rock. I told her she had a great idea. She made the Puffin Rock on paper and I printed a bunch of Babas. We’re a good team.
Vernon is always such a good sport. Never fails to make these kids laugh.
Present time!
Then it was time to eat our Puffin Rock supper. Again, I got all my ideas from here.
Some peanut butter and some chicken salad “Crab sandwiches.”
Happy Birthday sweet Essie! We love you!
Wow, does that look like a great time! Those sandwiches with eyes are just killing me. 🙂 Did you buy candy eyes or use frosting?
Happy Birthday Esther!
Lea
You TOTALLY nailed it. You also made me laugh out loud.
But, more importantly, I bet Esther was with you the whole way.
After a few drinks, those crab sandwiches would freak me out.
I think you did a wonderful job on that cake!! Congratulations on persevering!
Yes you did indeed nail it! Everything is so creative, Clara must get her flair from you! And Esther shows how much you accomplished her dream birthday (for this year…)
Happy Birthday! I bet there were no objections to the cake.
Y’all so nice. The cake went down real easy! Lea, those are candy eyes. I decided it’s very smart to just keep those on hand at all times. 🙂
