What God’s almighty power hath made
His gracious mercy keepeth;
By morning dawn or evening shade
His watchful eye ne’er sleepeth;
Within the kingdom of His might
Lo, all is just and all is right,–
To God all praise and glory!
I cried to Him in time of need:
Lord God, oh, hear my calling!
For death He gave me life indeed
And kept my feet from falling.
For this my thanks shall endless be;
Oh, thank Him, thank our God, with me,–
To God all praise and glory!
We give God all Praise and Glory for giving our sweet Josephine new life in His blessed gift of Holy Baptism. Sunday we brought her to the font of salvation. We were so honored to have her godparents and their dear family come to witness and celebrate with us on this day! Thank you Ryan and Sarah and to their kind congregations who let their pastor leave for a Sunday!
And because the girl’s sass was too perfect I had to share these pictures with you all.
Josephine: I is cute? Oh do go on.
Josephine: Now this side.
As you might remember, after Martha was baptized I had to retire the baptismal gown we have used in our family for over 60 years. But I love our stunning new Baptismal gown my Aunty Leah had the talented Ms. Jean Massey make for our baby girl and Lord willing any other babies He might give us….and any grandbaby girls to come!
My aunt said Ms. Massey would make whatever I wanted for the gown. That was amazing to me but a huge challenge for me to start looking around at different patterns. What I wanted was a gown that looked exactly like the original but I was not finding anything that felt right.
Then I found this pattern and it was like magic. IT was the one…but the pattern wasn’t easily available. I emailed my idea on and would you believe Ms. Masey HAD THE EXACT PATTERN in her repertoire?! It’s perfect. What a gift!
We thank and praise God for all His gifts.
We give thanks to the Lord for He is good! The new gown is absolutely stunning!
What a blessing to be able to share this gift with your family. Jean Massey does indeed have the wonderful talent and skill (and patience!) needed to do heirloom hand stitching. It looks lovely on lovely Josephine!
Welcome to the family, Josephine!
I love the baptismal gown!
