We had amazing weather last week and a day out of school so Phil took 6 of the babies to the zoo. He got some cute pictures I had to share.
I always like that we’re as equal an attraction as the animals.
The high point of the trip was watching this gorilla be totally gross!
Here’s one more look for you. Phil said he just kept doing this over and over again.
Gerhardt added: He used his pinky as a spoon.
Thought you all would like that.
Instant friends.
In response to Nancy’s comment, this video comes to mind over and over when I go to the zoo:
And in case you missed it, here is what I feel like at our rental right now:
Such cute pictures- then we get to the gorilla; I love the commentary in the background! Yay zoo!!!
Mercy is really growing up! And her beautiful hair!
Are we sure the gorilla is okay? Is this normal behavior?
I had no idea that gorillas did that. Are they related to cows?
AND
I have always loved the animal statues at the zoo. We take a picture on the giraffe every single time.
Isn’t she Rebekah?! 🙂
I wondered that too Nancy. Apparently it is common for gorillas in captivity to do this, but I don’t know if that’s anything they do in the wild. I really enjoyed watching the animals at zoos, but always have a strange feeling about it. The youtube video I added to the post often comes to mind while walking around gaping at the animals.
There are some really great pictures. I especially enjoy the kids with the animal sculptures – individual and all together.
