These weeks before Thanksgiving the babies have been telling me something they are thankful for each morning. I’ve been putting them down on a piece of paper and then into our Blessings Jar. We’ll take them out and read them on Thanksgiving day. *Aunt Leah, you’ll recognize this little jar I think!
Every morning they have one, then two, then 3, 4, 5 things they want me to write down for them. They are blessed abundantly and if I take the time to stop and open my eyes to God’s goodness, I find so much to be thankful for as well.
We received a Thanksgiving meal in a box from an anonymous group or person at church. A turkey, a pumpkin pie, a bag of potatoes, canned food, stuffing mixes, paper napkins and plates and tons of fruit. I’m thankful.
Even something to hang on the wall! Isn’t that sweet? I hadn’t bought a turkey for us this year since we were invited to spend the day at a member’s home with their family, another blessing. I had been considering that I should get a turkey anyway but hadn’t, so this was a perfect and unexpected gift for me.
Since the big girls will be out of school for the rest of the week we had a movie night Tuesday. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving of course. With treats in the living room, a rarity so…super fun!
Blessings to you all as you prepare your feasts for tomorrow!
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.
I love the Blessings Jar! And the idea is especially nice. It reminds me of the years when I actually remember to keep out any Christmas cards we receive, and select one a day to pray for the senders. I love y’all and am so blessed to have you in my family!
you are each a special blessing in my life! such sweet and beautiful children!
Well I sure love you my aunties! 🙂
