At The Parsonage – Final Days

It’s finally here. The end. The house actually looks like we’re leaving. I’m torn between the sadness of the going and the relief that this planning, packing, moving part will soon be over.

I took our clock down yesterday. This was one of the first things to be hung in ‘our’ house. A nail high in the wall left from the former pastor just seemed like the best place to stick this bright red clock I brought to the marriage. So there it stayed for 8 years. I thought I’d move it someday but didn’t until yesterday afternoon when it came down and moved into a box.

The invitations for lunch and dinner have come in and we’ve been blessed to eat one more meal with those we’ll miss.

But first some lasts for my Book of Lasts.
A last bowl of ice cream on this porch.

One more run around the front yard for these two who haven’t gotten to do this much.

The Big 4 were in Texas for a couple weeks in July. Clara came back missing some teeth. Now our 6 year olds actually do look like twins!

This called for a last picture by “The Picture Wall.”

Clara’s humongous cabbage ready for harvesting along with the rest of the garden.

And thankfully Leanna knew how to do this!

Much of it had to be cut away but I think we can definitely get a good amount of slaw out of what was left!

And tonight one last supper at this house we’ve called home for 8 years.

Oh, I’m sad that this is really happening. AND I’m happy for you, too. I know there will be some serious tears shed on the official moving day, and that’s okay. It shows that you planted some roots and made memories with your family. You know WHO the important things are in life, and those special people are going to plant new roots with you in your new home. God’s blessings for safe travels, dear ones.

Thank you Kristi! I’m kind of in a daze, this still doesn’t seem totally real. Just feels like we’re leaving for a long vacation. I’ve always said that it seems like we’re taking the whole house with us when we go to Texas so…. But this time we’re not coming back. 🙁

Glad everyone got to have some ice cream!
