Cultivating Simplicity

Isn’t making life more “simple” something we all would like to do? Maybe. Unfortunately, some of us seem to be blessed with the ability to always make things more complicated. In an attempt to cultivate simplicity in my already complicated life, I often find myself looking for better ways to do things, whether it’s reorganizing an out of control closet or making my bread making process easier (thank you Jenny!!). I’m loving how quick and easy it is to pull a pre-made flour bag out of the freezer and dump it into the bread machine! Yay!

I think my next move will be more slow cooker meals. Genius, but this will require forethought, something my “blessed with the ability to always make things more complicated” brain doesn’t typically allow.

Good Shepherd Sunday

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

Continuing our Good Shepherd party today.

Almighty God, merciful Father, since You have wakened from death the Shepherd of your sheep, grant us Your Holy Spirit that when we hear the voice of our Shepherd we may know Him who calls us each by name and follow where He leads.

Mixing Bowls!

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Thank you thank you thank you to my mother and father-in-law for my birthday mixing bowls! I love these things! And the timing was perfect as my last “good” mixing bowl just cracked.

No more using dinky old cheap plastic container for mixing because the two I had were dirty or indisposed! I have plenty of bowls now, big ones, small ones, all good for mixing and serving in. Perfect.

Oh, Aunt Jemima!

Bacon Strip Pancakes. Do these look wonderful or am I just pregnant??!!

Get the details on how to make these beauties here and let me know how perfect they are. There’s no bacon in my house right now otherwise I’d be eating these for supper.
