December Daily: Day Thirteen

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Today we received this beautiful Christmas card from our friends Jud and Eugenie. I love getting Christmas cards from friends and family. This year I will save all of them (except this one, Phil opened before I could tell him) to open during the 12 days of Christmas.

I can’t believe it’s already the 12th of December! I’ve been trying to savor everyday. Advent – He Will Come

Sunday, December 12th, 2010

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And light triumphant breaks;
When beauty gilds the eastern hills,
And life to joy awakes.

Not as of old a little child
To bear, and fight, and die,
But crowned with glory like the sun
That lights the morning sky.

Oh, brighter than that glorious morn
Shall dawn upon our race
The day when Christ in splendor comes
And we shall see his face.

It’s been so strange to not have any snow on the ground this late in December. The thought of not having a white Christmas was actually making me a little sad. Growing up never having any I’ve been spoiling  after three in a row! Hopefully the snow we got yesterday will stick around for a while.
