At The Parsonage

Friday, November 4th, 2011

The other day I caught myself putting the leftover spaghetti in the pantry instead of the fridge. It was headed for the top shelf with all the Tupperware. And lately the days run together. I find that I have to stop several times a day to remember which day it actually is. Do we have school today or is it church?

I’d like to know where the shavings of my whittled mind are getting off to, in case I get to looking for them later, but I don’t have the energy to worry about that right now.

Swagger Wagon

Yes, this is a 15 passenger van.  Yes, it is our new family vehicle. I traveled to Minneapolis yesterday to buy it.  This 1998 model is a well used former church van.

Lily and Clara give perspective to this picture.  It is quite large, but drives pretty nice actually.  It’s great being able to look over Mini-vans and SUVs.  The 6.8L V-10 engine is great.  It has plenty of power available.

We like to go all out at the Hale house.

At The Parsonage – Part II

Esther ready for her first Sunday in church.

We’re now out of laps for babies during the Sunday service so there was some shuffling around and taking turns. I imagine this will continue. I’m so thankful the Lord has given us our wonderful neighbors who sit with me every week, handing out snacks, sippy cups, quiet toys, looking at books and shushing in the pew. Such a blessing. I know not every pastor’s wife has this kind of help, I don’t know what I’d do without it!

At The Parsonage – Part I

We’re settling into things around the parsonage with four babies. Our moms are still here so the reality of life, how it will be, hasn’t hit yet, but I’m starting to get a better picture of that. I can’t say that it will always be pretty, but I suppose we’ll survive once they’re gone…maybe. Here’s what we’ve been up to.

The weather turned cooler last week and I had a craving for gingerbread cookies (they’re gone now, I think I need to make more). Delicious Fall is finally here!
