A Bundle of Myrrh

"My beloved is unto me as a bundle of myrrh." Song of Solomon 1:13

At The Parsonage

November 4th, 2011 by Aubri

The other day I caught myself putting the leftover spaghetti in the pantry instead of the fridge. It was headed for the top shelf with all the Tupperware. And lately the days run together. I find that I have to stop several times a day to remember which day it actually is. Do we have school today or is it church?

I’d like to know where the shavings of my whittled mind are getting off to, in case I get to looking for them later, but I don’t have the energy to worry about that right now.

Life with four littles requires a lot more time and energy than life with three did. Life with four will force you to decide where your precious minutes go.

Clara got a hold of the markers twice this day…

I’m usually doing good just to get the basics done around here, but some time can be made for things like this right?

There’s always time for baking Whoopie Pies! (I decided to nix the orange sprinkles the Martha has on her pies, it just made mine look stupid if Whoopie Pies can look stupid. Instead I just  embraced the white delicious messiness of this icing.)

Anyway, I apologize that this blog may be slow in updates and get more entries like this one and the next ones, quick glimpses of the last couple weeks that are a complete blur to me.  Here are some recent highlights:

Last month we got new to us furniture in the family room.

With all the small people we didn’t want anything very spendy or too nice, but something comfy was a must. I think we did pretty well with this set.

I’ve been reading fairy tales to the girls from books that belonged to me when I was a little girl. Lily loves them. I love the artwork in these books but I didn’t realize how many children were sent off to be murdered in the woods in these stories! Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, who knows how Cinderella was spared this fate. So I do a lot of quick reading ahead and editing for tiny ears.

Last weekend I took the girls to our library for Halloween story hour.

My poor babies were the only ones without their costumes on but we still had fun.

Clara surprises me with how much she’s willing to do without big sister Lily who refused to be a part of the group picture. I’m so proud of her! Uh, and the Scream guy, when is that costume gonna get old? It’s horrible!
