Last weekend was County Fair time. We enjoyed two days of looking at all the animals and riding as many (4) rides as we could…over and over again!

July 4th

Sunday, July 8th, 2012

This is late, but here’s what we did. We started the day as we did last year, with a morning 3 mile race for Phil. He had a full stroller this year and did a great job! We played around the park and for a hot summer day it was surprisingly very pleasant. I didn’t want to go home. We lunched then headed to the homestead for early naps.

We decorated with some of our beautiful handmade decor, ate an “easy on Mama” supper of chips and brats, then came the firecrackers!

I know there are way too many slide shows flying around on this blog, but allow me one more…for now. So many pictures, it’s just easier to squeeze them into one place right? Here’s our big Independence Day celebration:

After the babies were in bed Phil and I enjoyed fireworks from our porch and living room. It’s quite nice to live where the neighbors blow $500 on pyrotechnics and we can watch right out the window!

Hope you all enjoyed your celebration!

Another Date Night

Sunday, June 3rd, 2012

Another date last week! Boy, I’m doing good! Phil and I went on a double date this time with our good friends Anne and Steve.

We took them to the Old Market in Omaha to the Upstream Brewing Company, one of our favorite watering holes. The beer sample “platter” full of house and seasonal beers is a must. Phil could tell you more about it but he’s not here right now.

Bugs and Butterflies

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

We have had a beautiful Spring. A few days last week were what you would call “perfect” cool but not too cold and sunny. It’s butterfly season so we had to take some time to chase a few down in the park. The girls loved it, they didn’t catch any, but were thrilled to try!

“Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait for me!” I’m not sure if Clara is talking to Lily or the butterflies.
