Day 4 was all about relaxing before the trek home and back to the daily grind. We were ready though. We missed those little hooligans of ours.

Black Hills Days 2 and 3

I really can’t get over how beautiful this part of our country is.
On Day 2 we packed in a lot of sightseeing, Jewel Cave (see previous post), Mt. Rushmore which we were “Meh” about and not sure if we cared to squeeze it in and the Black Hills National Forest.

I’m turning the mic over to Phil on this one. He’s much better with details than I am. This cave was beautiful but I have to admit I spent most of the time just trying not to fall down or bump into any o the rocks, this proved harder than I thought. I have no sense balance after having babies and with a growing belly and the tour guide squeezing past us on some of the paths I kept imagining myself plummeting into the dark abyss around us! I made it through though and glad we have some pictures so I can now enjoy what we “saw”. Okay here’s Phil.
We took a tour of the third longest cave in the world. It was a 1/2 mile loop up and down 700+ stair steps.

Phil and I left this morning for five days in and around the Black Hills in SD.
