Cinco de Mayo

Yes, Cinco de Mayo was about a year ago I know but I loved these photos so I had to make a post about our fiesta-ing. And I’m purging old post drafts. Olé!

A few years ago our neighbors brought beautiful dresses back from Mexico for our baby girls. They were big then but I put them on them anyway, cranked up the Jarabe Tapatío and let them Hat Dance their little hearts out. They loved it and since I love Mexican food it only seemed reasonable that we make celebrating May 5th a tradition at our house.

May Day

Can any of you believe it’s already MAY? Of course you can’t. But here it is. For May Day this year we’ll be delivering May Baskets with muffins to our neighbors. Tradition is to leave the basket on their door or porch and sneak off. If you’re caught in the act you’re given a kiss so Gerhardt will be running for his life.

Let Me Count the Ways

Husband,

It’s sometimes hard for me to find the words to tell you how much I love you and why I love you. I love you because you are my husband but also because of who you are. I know we can marry “anyone” but anyone else would not have been you and I am thankful that God gave me you.

Why do I love YOU?

I love you because you are committed to what is good even when it isn’t an easy path. This is getting very hard to find these days. It serves you well as a pastor and head of a family. I know it can’t be easy especially if you make a decision that is right, but not liked. I know I can count on you to be strong in your decisions and not blown about or pressured into those that are not wise. Thank you for being a man of your word and committed to God’s Word and Truth.
