Can any of you believe it’s already MAY? Of course you can’t. But here it is. For May Day this year we’ll be delivering May Baskets with muffins to our neighbors. Tradition is to leave the basket on their door or porch and sneak off. If you’re caught in the act you’re given a kiss so Gerhardt will be running for his life.
Yes, I made another cake. And now you know why I Jillian Michaels it up! But I saw this one and had an amazing bundt cake recipe so I had to.
I just had to.
A May Basket for the babies.
New flip flops, hair accessories, just small stuff and the next few books in the Magic Tree House series the big kids are enjoying.
We also flower bombed the house!
Outside it feels more like Fall than Spring, cold and drizzly today so we content ourselves with paper flowers and pretend Spring.
I was reminded that last year it snowed on May Day. Craziness.
Happy May Day!
Cute flowers!
We totally May Day’d one of our favourite Ladies’ Aid ladies. Except I waddled away. I wish I’d known I could get a kiss/hug if I got caught – – she’s a sweet lady. I’d have taken it! 🙂
I know you are not one of those moms who pretends to “have it all together” (and I love that about you!) but I just have to say you seem like such a fun and wonderful mom! I get inspired by the ways you invest in your kids lives through projects and memory making. It makes me so excited for the future with my own littles. Thanks for keeping it real and being awesome!
Oh May Day is fun! Ha! Get your kisses next year Lisa 🙂
And it gets more fun each year Bridget. This was the first year the girls actually understood the sneaking and running and enjoyed it. They wanted to keep doing it, “who can we do next Mama?” but we were out of baskets and baked goods. 🙁 I started some of these things even when I only had two babies just seeing what would work for me, what I liked etc. It becomes a habit to make certain days special, activities vary each year depending on energy, patience etc, but I’m glad to do even a little something.

I didn’t know that! Three cheers for traditions involving kisses (mistletoe is a favorite in our house)
