The Feast of the Nativity begins with Jesus under our tree and nothing else. The greatest and best gift from God our Father.
I imagine one day I’ll place gifts under our tree for Christmas as well. It’s just been so much easier to keep them hidden until it’s time to open them. I can’t imagine having to try to keep babies away from the presents for so long!

My day began very early I suppose. I wasn’t able to sleep and now can’t remember why but I got to see the snow move in. It was such a quiet and peaceful house it was hard to make myself finally go to bed sometime around 1:30, but I did.

I love our tradition of receiving a tree from a family in our former parish who own a tree farm. Our first couple years of marriage Phil would sneak out to a ditch off the road and cut one down while I stood watch. Fun times. We were rescued from the adventurous Bonny and Clyde life by this kind man who has gifted us with a tree since then.
