St. Irenaeus Bishop of Lyon

June 28: Today the Church recognizes St. Irenaeus Bishop of Lyon (c. 202.) I had every intention of baking something French….hey like this Tarte Tatin.

It didn’t set up at all like I would have liked it to but I’ve already had 4 pieces because it’s basically health food and it’s just that good!

On this day we give thanks to God’s called men who have battled heresy in the past and continue to do so today. Blessed St. Irenaeus Bishop of Lyon

St. John the Baptist (June 24)

June 24: For the past several years in June on the Nativity of St. John the Baptist (June 24) we have one big celebration of all the children’s baptism days. I used to attempt to mark each of them on the day they occurred but that got to be too much…too much to forget to do! So my solution, one day to mark them all. And…there’s also ice cream. Blessed feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.
