At The Parsonage

Today is Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Mardis Gras or Pancake Tuesday.  Tradition being “get rid of all the fat, butter and eggs in the house because Lent starts tomorrow”.  What batter way to do that than by making pancakes?

While we are not getting rid of our fat today, we did decide to eat some fatty crepes (they sounded better than pancakes which I make a LOT of). I’ve learned I’m not very good at making these and should just stick to pancakes, but they were tasty at least.

Oh No She Didn’t

Happiness thy name is Pina Colada! Even if you are non-alcoholic.

All you need is a frozen mix, a blender and a pineapple you just cored out to have your own piece of paradise. Who knew it was that simple?

The Transfiguration of our Lord

March 6th, 2011 by Aubri

‘Tis good, Lord, to be here,
Thy glory fills the night;
Thy face and garments, like the sun,
Shine with unborrowed light.

‘Tis good, Lord, to be here,
Thy beauty to behold
Where Moses and Elijah stand,
Thy messengers of old.

Fulfiller of the past,
Promise of things to be,
We hail Thy body glorified
And our redemption see.

Before we taste of death,
We see Thy kingdom come;
We fain would hold the vision bright
And make this hill our home.

‘Tis good, Lord, to be here.
Yet we may not remain;
But since Thou bidst us leave the mount,
Come with us to the plain.
