Holy Cross Day

September 24th, 2021 by Aubri

September 14: My sweet little helper.😍 Today we’re preparing for Holy Cross Day, commemorated Sept. 14.

“Far be it from me that I should glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

For years I’ve made this cross shaped monkey bread for the commemoration of Holy Cross day, it’s always a hit. This is also the day that reminds me that we’re just about to enter into my favorite season of the Church Year, so many holy days and seasons of the church are just around the corner. Annnd we’re on the brink of Fall.🍁 Is there anything better than Fall? πŸπŸ‚

September 8: Memorializing this pregnancy with a maternity photoshoot. “Moon goddess of the Meadow” I am not, and as much fun as some pictures of me in a flowy dress in a prairie with sun streaming down my bare shoulders would have been…me and Phil alone with his cell phone taking photos before going out for burgers really is more my speed. πŸ˜…

This pregnancy has been very different for us to say the least, long months, many ups and downs. But we are so thankful for the gift of this little girl. Someone recently asked if this will be our last baby and as I always do, I told her “we don’t know.” That’s the truth of it, we just never know. God has given children lavishly to us and He has taken them from us. For now we have these and we are grateful. So if this is the last time I carry a baby this far I wanted to mark the goodness with a few corny photos. We are blessed.
