“Easter is a victory celebration, a time for all Christians to proclaim boldly their faith in a risen and victorious Savior. For the early Christians, Easter was not merely one day, it was (and is) a whole season that also includes the celebration of Jesus’ ascension. The fifty days between Easter and Pentecost, known as the Great Fifty Days, was the first liturgical season observed in the first three centuries of the Church. ” Treasury of Daily Prayer
There were too many flowers after a funeral last week so we were given this beautiful Kalanchoe. I love having fresh flowers in the house especially during this season!
Our Easter celebrations have continued over the past few weeks with more chocolate and gifts.
My mom sent this wonderful Peter Rabbit floor puzzle. I saved it to give the girls a couple weeks ago.
We all had a fun time putting this together, though not on the floor since one of us…I’m not gonna say who, he knows who he is….Gerhardt, would be nibbling the pieces.
Lily reads the Easter story for us. It’s so funny what they remember and say!
Last week I made an Easter cake. It did not stick around long!
Today we finally got around to making our Easter Countdown Calendars that will lead us to Pentecost.
Here’s Gerhardt’s. It matches his face.
And we began to eat bags of, well, I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s yummy! A friend of ours gave them to each of the babies.
I’ve never made it but it seems to be puffed corn like this covered in almond bark. Wish I could find the recipe to share.
Don’t you know the Savior was blessed when He heard your little ones singing the Resurrection Story?!
