“Following are some of questions which every mother-to-be is asked at some time or other during her pregnancy and my suggestions for answers.
“Oh my dear, so soon?” There is really now excuse for this question, unless the wedding was last Thursday, in which case you can only blush, nod and make the best of it. In any other circumstance, you should give a delighted and proud “Yes, isn’t it marvelous?” unless you prefer to punch them in the nose, in which case I would be happy to hold your coat.
“Not again?” This question used to be reserved for the mother of many; today’s mother can expect to hear it on her second or third pregnancy. As many times as I heard this question, you would think that I could have come up with a suitable answer, but the only comeback I ever had was: “Not again…still.” You would be amazed at the number of people who believed me.”
