He is risen! Alleluia! Here are some pictures from our Easter celebration. Sunday was a long day of festivities for us, tiring, but wonderful. We had gorgeous weather, cool and SUNNY! The sun was so welcomed after a week of clouds and rain (sorry Texans, I won’t complain about that!).
First here are some of the eggs I “colored”. I tried some new things with paper and acrylic paints this year.
And some blown out eggs. I’ve never done this and was surprised it was easier than I thought. Unfortunately, the paper I originally got to put on these didn’t work. I wanted eggs that looked like these, but got this look instead. I’ll try again next year.
Our Lenten crown of thorns wreath is now a festive Easter wreath.
I got a Resurrection set this year since Lily knows the Passion and Easter accounts so well, I knew she would love looking at it.
An “Alleluia” banner I managed to make. I got the idea for this here.
And finally, what I know you all really only read this blog for…the babies!
After our 6:30 Sunrise Service we rushed home to dig into the baskets of goodies.
Don’t tell Gerhardt that those are M&Ms, and that they’re delicious and that he really can’t have any.
Our wonderful friends invited us again this year to their family Easter egg hunt on their property. The littles stay close to the homestead and the big kiddos get to go out into the field to really hunt. Remember how small the girls were last time we did this?! Refresh your memory here. Sigh.
The eggs are filled with coins! Each child gets 25 eggs. Clara had egg hunt mania and refused to stop there. We had to sneak some out of her basket and put back in the grass for the other babies. She is her father’s daughter. Poor Gerhardt slept through the whole thing if he asks where he was during all this.
I was happy to have the nice weather so the girls were able to wear the fun Easter egg dresses my mom made for them!
We hope you all had a joyous Easter!
your eggs are beautiful and so are your kids. you are amazing. i love the easter egg dresses, the alleluia banner, and the fact that your son doesn’t know what an m&m is yet! love you.
Your decorations are beautiful! You did manage to get a lot done! The babies grow up so fast; next Easter you will be watching Gerhardt hunt and the new baby will be sleeping!
