A Bundle of Myrrh

Feb 13: It’s almost Valentine’s Day and something is making me a bit sentimental. I think Anne Bradstreet said it best when she said:

“If ever two were one, then surely we. If ever man were loved by wife, then thee. If ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me, ye women, if you can. Thy love is such I can no way repay; The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray. Then while we live, in love let’s so persevere, That when we live no more, we may live ever.”

I’m so glad I waited for what seemed like an eternity at the time for God to bring this man to me. Romance is fine, but a man who is dedicated to loving and serving his entire family is better than having mere “romance.” I hope our sons will learn well from their Daddy what it is to be a godly man and husband.
