My friend Katy says “I love being a grownup sometimes – so much excitement for mundane things.” For real. Who would have thought you could be so excited over something like a mopped kitchen, a matched sock or a city sewer line!?
But that is me. Thrilled to finally be hooked into our city sewer system and off of our old septic tank! It’s been a gross, smelly, icky year and a half dealing with a tiny tank and a big household of stuff to fill it. And the whole process was begun and done so quickly last week!
We are so thankful!
WOW! That is a big deal!
I remember being at my Grandparents’ on a tiny septic tank (we had one too but it was much bigger for our little family of three) – 8 children, 7 spouses, 16 grandchildren plus my Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa had to have the tank pumped before we all arrive to help with harvest and then after we all went home. A whopping total of 3 weeks time. And heaven help you if you put anything more robust than toilet paper in that toilet…..
Excitement in the mundane indeed!

We’ve had to have our pumped several times since we moved in, plus a pipe was damaged, so it has been quite a mess. It’s such a relief to not have to worry about this anymore!
Oooh, how exciting. And fun for the kids to watch!
