Each year the second grade classes at our school host “Poetry and Punch” in their classroom. This gives the kids a chance to recite the poetry they’ve written during their poetry unit. Oh and serve green punch. Mmmm.
Phil went to Lily’s last year so I got to attend Clara’s debut.
I was happy they don’t just sit around and free style their way through poetry but learn about different styles, what they are and how to write them. And then have to get up in front of an audience and recite them. They each choose two to read.
I’m so proud of our Clarie! She did a great job.
