Our Good Friday.
It was cool, dark and rainy. No school today. Phil took some of the babies out fishing once again. For breakfast we indulged ourselves with Chocolate Chip Hot Cross Buns. I ate two. We live in Grace.
I sent the Big Three to the Good Friday service and stayed home with the sleepy young ones.
I spent most of the day trying to keep the kitchen tidy and cooking here and there to lessen the load of Holy Saturday. I always hope to take some of the work out of holy days so I can enjoy them more. My efforts help but often times don’t seem to make that much difference. There will always be work. I wonder if it’s worth it. I suppose it is.
I’m thankful that Christ’s work is done.
“After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
