On the ninth day of Christmas I don’t remember most of what happened. But I did rope Phil into a game night. I reeeally want to be a family that plays games together. It is getting a little easier…but oy! The tension is high and not the good gamey kind of tension. There’s always a whole lotta blood sweat and tears when we go down “family game night” street.
But we got through it.
Lily and Esther helped me make our traditional Christmas Candy Crunch and it was good.
I’m not sure if it’s changed permanently around here, but we did some games recently and only one threw fits (I think). I can’t remember it perfectly, but I don’t have that normal family game night feeling of never wanting to do it again. It’s definitely improving as there are older ones.
I too, like the idea of family game night. In my head everyone just has a lot of fun. In reality there’s fighting and impatience.
