Allow me to back up a bit and give you all a look at our Halloween. Here’s the cast of characters for our evening. Our little Matryoshkas or Russian Nesting Dolls and the Wild Kratts. You’ll notice one of our dolls is not like the others. The drama begins.
The girls took their costumes to school the day before for the Halloween Parade. Lily promptly handed her’s back when she got home. Clara didn’t, but I assumed it was in her backpack and didn’t worry until it was time to get dressed.
Mama: “Where’s your costume Clara?”
Clara: “I don’t know?”
And I don’t think she cared, but I was in a tizzy.
We went ahead with photos cuz that’s what Mama does.
Then it was Esther’s turn for drama. Completely out of sorts and in a mood since I’d had to wake her from her late nap to get ready for Trick or Treating. Mad she had to wear this thing on her head.
And there was Lily feeling the need to make an example out of one of her sisters.
Then there were the boys.
Oh the boys. They didn’t care who was crying and they didn’t care that their Mama wanted a “good” picture. And in the end their 2015 Halloween pictures turned out perfect. They were tickled to death about getting to be the Kratt brothers!
Now back to the girls.
Really. The cuteness made it all worth it.
But I wasn’t feeling the cheeks. Then I noticed just what was happening to the checks! Smearing! Not good with the white dresses. I quickly wiped all cheeks away.
Then a miracle happened. We found Clara’s costume…in her backpack! Halloween photo shoot take two.
By this point however, the drama had reached it’s peak.
We powered through.
My sweet little Matryoshkas all in a row!
The littlest one so sweet!
After our All Hallows Pizza (too corny? Yes.) it was time to go out for candy.
This one stayed home to help Mama hand out candy while Daddy took the others around our neighborhood.
Moods finally lifted and I kept hearing “This is the best Halloween ever!” over and over so I think they all had fun.
And we’ll do it ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!!
I love it all! At least the oldest and the youngest look happy! I love Martha chewing on Mercy’s dress! They are all so cute- even those pesky Kratt
brothers! 🙂
Oh, the cuteness! It gets me every time.
What a clever idea – I love it (and so glad you found Clara’s costume!)
Thanks for sharing,
Lea
