A quick and I’ll just say, adorable Christmas Eve program at church. Our little cherubs and Mary didn’t disappoint. I’ll try to add video soon, the little I got.

An hour before show time Mercy started throwing up again. She’d been coughing non-stop all day and poor Ephraim as well so they would have to stay home. Thankfully our neighbor stayed with them so I could get to church. Pray for our little ones!

Look, tonight I finally found my Jesse Tree ornaments.

Stockings hung on the table with care.

One of these years we’ll buy our own Christmas lights instead of having to pilfer some from the church. Promise.

After the babies had settled down a little and digested a bit of the candy they inhaled after their program I let them quietly come upstairs to read a new book, put our Donkey Food on the porch, a candle in the window for Mary and Joseph, turn out the lights and sing Silent Night together. Then it was off to bed for all but Esther and Gerhardt who kept crawling up the stairs determined to catch Santa putting their gifts under the tree. I even caught them sneaking around at 12:30 with a flash light.

I love Christmas Eve. I always wish Phil could be home more but with 3 services he’s in and out or gone until after midnight so it’s just us. But finally once I had everything done and ready for Christmas Day I sat in the glow of the tree lights for a few minutes alone, listening to some Christmas hymns and enjoying the quiet settled house. Dreamy.
