Time again for the school “Holiday” Program! Tonight was biter cold and blustery. We bundled up and left a bit early to drive the two blocks and park as close as we could to the school. Since we were so early I decided to have some fun with the three babies in the car (Lily, Gerhardt and Esther) and drive around our town to see the Christmas lights. I cranked up the Christmas tunes on the radio and we Ooo’d and Aww’d.
*Sorry for the bad quality video* Lily’s class singing “Snow Pants.” A lot of songs I didn’t know this year. Lily always gets placed front and center and I always manage to be right behind the director so I can’t see her. It’s a perfect arrangement….not. Sorry for that one, I recently rewatched Wayne’s World, classic. Anyway, I handed the camera off to my neighbor for a better show.
We had three babies in the program this year but poor Clara had to stay home sick. I recorded her class performance so she could watch it. And I’m so glad I did. They’re singing Let It Go from Frozen. Keep your eyes on the little man in the blue button down. He’ll give you a good cackle, if you can see through the pixel grain.
And sorry this one is so shaky. Esther was on my lap and could not sit still surprise surprise.
I’m so proud of Gerhardt! I really thought he’d have opted to stay with me instead of joining his class, or have been the one crying instead of that sweet little girl, but he went right up there with the others and ALMOST SANG. He thought about it for a second!
I have no idea what they’re singing shouting but Gerhardt’s still cute and Esther is still hitting the camera.
And that’s our show!
I love children’s school/church programs! There’s always something that gives everyone such a good chuckle.
We have our school’s Christmas program (a perk of sending them to a Lutheran school!) tonight and my Buddy has an awful head cold. Don’t think he’ll be going. 🙁 And I’m betting I’m the one who gets to stay home with him too – double bummer. Ah, well, there will be others!
Thanks for sharing!
Lea
Oh, the laughs your kids will have when they’re older and get to watch these again. The semi-singing/shouting of songs, the tears, the skirts that get lifted to give the world a little show, the blank stares. Ah, yes, good times.
I do love the children’s programs, they really make me laugh! I’m surprised Esther didn’t join in on her favorite song! And you’re right, Gerhardt is so cute up there with his class! So sorry Clara had to miss it, but maybe she will be better for the church program! 🙂
