Tomorrow school will finally begin again and our Summer break will come to an end. This year we’ll have 3 babies to get up, get dressed, get fed and get out the door. I panic a little.
June slipped by while we were in Texas, rain and cool days took most of our July and it just feels like this Summer was gone too fast.
Someone’s ’bout to get whacked!
About that outfit….don’t ask. Ok, ask. Lily wanted to play “Circus.” I almost tossed this one, but held on to it for just such an occasion. There.
I say the Summer went by fast and it did. But there have been days I’ve been so so thankful for that. The babies are restless, bickering much of the day, not sharing, whining, screaming, crying, slapping, biting, pushing and I think we’re all ready for something different.
We need the new routine that school brings. School solves everything right?!
Since we didn’t get to the lake much we decided to get out there Monday. It was perfect. NOT HOT. Is it really August?!
We didn’t get above 75 Monday, it felt more like Fall than Summer. Delicious!
Mercy thinks rocks are delicious.
The lake nearby is our retreat. Cheap, good for the babies and occasionally good for Mama. Every Summer I entertain the idea of actual camping with everyone. Then I have a good chuckle about how silly I am. Give me a few years, I might dare.
This is my kind of “Camping.” The 3 hour kind. Fish a little, cook a little, S’More it up then Pack it up and head to the wonders of the Great Indoors!
Rebekah, you wanted a picture of me…here you go! That’s my hand about to stuff that S’More into my mouth!
For our last day of Summer Break 2014 I think some Ice Cream is in order, a trip to the park, maybe a picnic and oh…maybe that’s enough.
I always wax nostalgic at the last days of summer, the way the sun shines at a different angle through the trees, the feel of the air; it means fall and winter are coming….
but I love the pictures of the babies enjoying the park – and the s’more in your hand!
Wonderful ways to spend the last few days. We went to the pool, watched a movie, made burgers on the grill, rode bikes and laughed a lot. Then stuck them on the bus this morning. It was hard this year. The summer did seem to fly. But a change in routine does us all some good. You’ll do great!
Yeah! Loved the hand picture! Loved the s’more even more 🙂
I will also have three in school full time this year. Can’t believe that. It seems to get a smidge easier with each one. I always miss my bigger kids, but the fighting, that I absolutely do not miss. Three fifteen when they all get home is always like a huge rush of WHOA WHAT JUST HAPPENED HERE!? (it all starts again)
Yay for summer days.
