“Anyone who wishes to receive the Holy Sacrament must offer to God Almighty an empty, single, and hungry soul. Therefore it is most fitting soul is least fit; that is, when the soul feels altogether wretched, poor and devoid of grace, it is most receptive for God’s grace and least fitted to receive it.” Martin Luther

“If we are burdened with sins, let us carry them to Christ. He has nailed them to the cross and will forgive us and subdue death and the devil. Thus we are made partakers even of the death of Christ.” Martin Luther

My mom arrived from Texas on Maundy Thursday. She stepped right into the fray interrupting Esther and Ephraim strong arming each other over the back door. I’ve never had family visit during Easter, so this was a welcomed joy and relief! And yes those are “Hot Cross Buns” you saw. We enjoyed our Christian freedom by indulging ourselves in Chocolate Chip HCBs and buttery pretzels on Good Friday.
