A Bundle of Myrrh

“Come, O Lord and do not delay. Loosen the bonds of Your people Israel.”

Today I put away Fall and began to prepare our home for a new season of Advent.

“Rejoice greatly, O Jerusalem! Behold your King is coming to You.”

I think this season becomes more dear to me each year. This season with it’s emphasis on Christ’s coming, not just as of old, a little child, but coming again as our King, crowned with glory to take us, to fulfill all His promises.

“Oh, brighter than that glorious morn
Shall dawn upon our race
The day when Christ in splendor comes
And we shall see his face.”

The night will soon be ending and I find the older I get the more comforting that is, the more I anticipate our long expected Jesus.

Today we also remembered St. Andrew, Christ’s first disciple. A fisherman who followed John the Baptist until John pointed him to the Lamb of God.

So for lunch we had fish and asked God to help us to follow Christ.

“Behold, the Lord shall come and all His saints with Him; and in that day the light shall be great. Alleluia!”
