As promised some more pictures of our newest addition. I think I’m finally getting used to the hair but I still can’t look at her without being reminded of Liza Minelli….
Uh Huh.
Big sister Esther LOVE LOVE LOVES her Mercy, always wanting to know “Where Mercy at?” and making sure she has her “pass” or bottle or something to read…
It’s never to early to start reading right?
The big girls have been busying themselves in other ways. This day they were busy pretending to “sew by the fire” but they often stop to get a look at Mercy and comment on how “cute” she is or to let me know when she’s crying….helpful things like that.
So far Mercy has been very easy going, eating about every 3 hours, not fussy and I know if I write it down it will all change but I’m only getting up with her once a night. Crazy. She’ll sleep about 4 hours at a time from 9 to 1am or 11 to 3am, then she’s up again around 5:30 or 6am. I can’t believe how much sleep I’m able to get. For the first time in months I’m not up every hour going to the bathroom or uncomfortable all night with calf cramps, restless legs and insomnia! The Lord knows I need some good sleep!
Now let’s discuss the hair. The question we’ve gotten over and over around here is “Did they all start off with hair that dark?” The answer is yes. They all had varying amounts and shades of it, but all of them were dark haired.
Let us look back…
Lily, dark haired.
Probably wins second place in the Amount category.
Then Clara already being Clara-rific and dark haired. Later becoming my first real Blondie.
Gerhardt our little old man. Dark.
Esther who came back from a bath with a curly top.
Ephraim whose hair refused to do anything but stick straight up for the first 10 months.
And finally Miss Mercy who wins in the Most and the Darkest categories. I think we all saw this coming!
You would never know their dark past by looking at them now with all the light hair they have. I’m just wondering if Mercy will ever be able to outgrow hers though, it’s hard to imagine her having blond hair! We shall see.
Oh, each and every picture was precious and made me smile. Thank you for sharing!!!
AND
I love seeing pictures of YOU with your babies. Don’t let the days go by without putting yourself in FRONT of the camera, too.
