Commemoration of Esther

May 25th, 2013 by Aubri

Yesterday we celebrated the Commemoration of Esther, originally named Haddasah meaning “myrtle“.

I thought it would be fun to have these Chocolate-Filled Donut Holes for dessert, the chocolate being “hidden” as Esther hid her identity as a Hebrew.

The story of Esther “is an example of how God intervenes on behalf of His people to deliver them from evil, as here through Esther He preserved the Old Testament people through whom the Messiah would come.” from Treasury of Daily Prayer

For craft time we made Queen Esther Paper Dolls.

And Queen Esther masks. Really, don’t they look just like Esther?

Hymn option for today: Have No Fear Little Flock LSB #735

And to keep up our writing skills over the Summer I had the girls do some worksheets.

Happy Name Day to our little Esther!
