My daughter did that once – I caught her because she thought the coffee tasted yucky and had to pause mid-gulp! I guess there are lots of other (worse) things she could have drunk instead…..
Don’t ask my why I thought of this right now but as I was trying to talk myself into getting out of bed and making coffee this morning I remembered this: one of my best friends growing up loved coffee from the she was little and her mom would pour her a small cup of mostly milk with just enough coffee to flavor it each time she had her own cup of coffee. My friend could drink as much of her cup as she wanted but not mama’s. It was quite effective at keeping her from drinking the “high octane” stuff apparently! Maybe something to try with your Clara?
They then decreased milk each year until she was about 15, and could drink “real” coffee. By the time she went to college, she and her mom were enjoying a cup of coffee and morning Bible readings on their huge front porch each morning before school and work. (I love the picture that paints in my head!)
Hope Holy Week went well for you…and an early Happy Easter!

Lea, my Mama does the milk/coffee thing with her grandbabies too, I’ll have to start doing that with Clara for sure, I’d forgotten about that trick. I really do hope she still likes coffee when she’s a bigger, that does sound nice sitting together drinking our coffee and maybe even having a grownup conversation!
Thanks for sharing that. Happy Easter to you as well!
Oh, this is not going to end well, is it?
LOL!!!

Kristi, not much with Clara ends well, but it does give us a lot to laugh about!
Very true Lea! Unfortunately Clara LOVES coffee and in another 20 years I’ll love that she loves coffee but for now…don’t leave your cup unattended.
Morning Aubri!
