Happy St. Patrick’s Day from us!
Grandma Verna made all the girls dresses for today and sent shirts for the big bad boys. The little ladies were so excited to get to wear these to church, they felt like “Irish princesses!”
How can you resist?! Maybe wipe the drool bomb off first.
Very easy Soda Bread.
And Irish Beef and Guinness Stew recipe from here.
I didn’t have Guinness, but I can always count on Phil having something to use instead, one perk of marrying a brewer. I substituted a Munich Dunkel.
I made these little cards for the girls to take to Sunday School for the kiddos there.
St. Patrick’s Day is a great opportunity for teaching on the Trinity. It is said that St. Patrick used the Shamrock as a visual tool for this doctrine.
I thought this would be a good Sunday to try getting another family picture.
It’s hard to believe, but we’re getting better at this!
Me getting in the picture with my babies again.
We’re taking it easy today.
I still want to bake a “rainbow cake” with the girls…the easy kind in a box, nothing fancy. We may get around to that and a craft. I’ll let you know if we do!
“Christ be with me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger.
I bind unto myself the Name,
The strong Name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One and One in Three.
By Whom all nature hath creation,
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
Praise to the Lord of my salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the Lord.”
Some words from St Patrick’s Breastplate
I would sure kiss that sweet little Irish face! And what cute outfits from Grandma Verna!
Your children are all gorgeous! (Though you didn’t need me to tell you that.)
Thank you Christie and thanks for visiting!
