It’s just a fact, big time talent runs in our family. Huge talent. So it was not a surprise when these 3 girls scripted, designed costumes and staged an entire 3…or was 4 part production of a new theatrical hit titled Shipwrecked. Refreshments were served during intermission. Luckily for all of you we got the whole thing on video!

“To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive.”
I’m not so sure he ever rode in a van sandwiched between a 2 and 3 year old for 10 hours. Arriving anywhere after that suddenly becomes the best thing that’s ever happened to you. Made even better by the people you get to see once you do finally make that arrival.
On Sunday July 15th we loaded up and drove to Texas. Our first week the babies and I spent with my family in Austin where I grew up, while Phil and some friends of his went down to the coast to once again hunt for sharks. No, they didn’t have any luck catching them, but the “journey” is the reward or something like that right?

It was hot as blazes but we had a fun day celebrating the birth of our nation. We began the day with a delicious breakfast fit for patriotic patriots. And a gift basket for the babies to get us in the Red White and Blue mood or really just through the Summer slump we had coming on.

June is the time for weddings isn’t it? This June bride was a member of our congregation and the daughter of a pastor here in Nebraska. Phil officiated her service and Pastor Berndt preached the sermon for the wedding. It was so kind of them to invite our family to the wedding and reception and so much fun to catch up with some of my friends, the wives of other pastors in attendance.
