This Summer our congregation called a young man to fill the role of Kantor for our church. He accepted that call and since then I have enjoyed getting to know his lovely wife. They are awaiting the birth of their 3rd child due this month so another kind lady in our congregation and I put together a diaper shower for them. We had fun with the Wintery inspiration of a Winter baby shower. We kept it simple with a delicious hot chocolate bar and some snacks.

Summer Vacation – Colorado Day 4 Part III
Tuesday, September 18th, 2018
And this is my dear friend Brenda. You might recognize her from my epic and moving “Love Story.” I was trying to think of how long Brenda and I have been friends and just where our friendship began.
She and I grew up in the same church so we’d known each other in our teens but didn’t start a real deal friendship until after high school. You know you have a good friend when you can not remember at all the first time you clicked and the rest became history. I just know that Brenda and I were pretty much attached at the hip for a solid 10 years, the entirety of my 20s.
We’ve been through thick and thin together and then some. So this day was a little like Peaches and Herb and a lot like pie.
I’ll let you decide which of us is Peaches and which is Herb. Maybe this picture will help:

Summer Vacation – Odessa, Tx
Thursday, September 6th, 2018
Our final stop in Texas was at Phil’s brother’s house in Odessa to visit with his family for a couple days. Aunt Lindsay did not mind at all to have to sit for a while and hold a snoozing smooch. Did not mind at all.
Summer Vacation – Haslet

After our time in Corpus Christi it was back for a week at Phil’s parents house where the babies spent as much time as possible swimming. This is really the only way to enjoy being outdoors in Texas during these hot months, you just have to be in the water.
This week we also celebrated Lily’s 10th.
