At The Parsonage – Waiting

Due dates make me laugh too Ephraim. We have 3 of them, November 2nd, the 4th and the 8th. Our doctor is going with the 4th and since I’m only about 2 cm dilated and not having real contractions, just those silly fake ones…for fun, I’m not thinking baby will be here over the weekend.

We don’t usually go past our due date by more than a few days (doctors’ choice) so I shouldn’t complain. I know there are those of you out there who have ventured WAY beyond “due dates”. You have my sympathy. We will go back to the doctor on Monday to see if there has been any progress.

 Until then we wait.

32 Weeks 6 Days

I thought I should update on baby 6, it’s been a while! We’re getting closer to meeting this tiny girl. She could possibly be my biggest, wiggliest and hairiest baby yet. Probably loudest too, they seem to get louder each time. I suppose they have to be at this house though. Thankfully, all seems to be going well with her.

I can’t complain too much about being uncomfortable…yet. I’m on the verge though. So far I’m physically doing pretty well. Meaning my body is holding up BUT I don’t remember being this tired all the time at this phase like I am this time! I’m just so drained.

And back on the heartburn wagon. It has to be worse than it’s ever been. It’s very much stop you dead in your tracks heartburn, so I’m waiting for baby Crystal Gayle to come waltzing out in 8 weeks. But I guess hairy babies can’t be helped…they come by it honestly:

174Phil c. Long Ago.

Also with this baby I have been so ITCHY!! Anyone else have this before?! All over, all the time itchy. I had some blood work done to make sure nothing was wrong. Nothing’s “wrong” so I’m hoping it will clear up on it’s own once baby is out. For now I’m just trying to keep as much skin as possible.

AND my sob story gets better. I’ve got a Bronchial infection now. Coughing is definitely not the friend of any pregnant woman.

All that said, it’s always amazing to feel these babies growing and with each one all our other babies realize more and more that we will have another sugar around here soon. They get so excited too which is wonderful to see. I’ll whine about pregnancy until the last minute, but I know, we are blessed.

We had another ultrasound this week and yes, this time we found out if this baby will need some new Pink bibs or new Blue bibs. Really any color will do, just not STAIN colored thanks.

Nativity of St. John The Baptist

Monday, June 24th, 2013

It is interesting to me that the Church doesn’t typically celebrate the earthly birthdays of its saints but their Heavenly birthdays, the days they died and entered Heaven. There are two exceptions to that, Mary’s and John the Baptist’s births. As I understand it, the Catholic church teaches that this is because they were born without Original sin. As a Lutheran we don’t teach or believe that but we still commemorate the birth of St. John the Baptist today.

“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
to give knowledge of salvation to his people
in the forgiveness of their sins,
because of the tender mercy of our God,
whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:76-79
